As the Co-director of the Genome Center at Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Mardis has been playing a pivotal role in invention, optimization, and application of novel genome sequencing technologies. In this interview, Dr. Mardis will talk about the impact of the next-generation sequencing technologies, especially the single molecule sequencing technology. Dr. Mardis will also tell us the importance of bioinformatics, her efforts for science literacy, and her visions for the genomics-based future healthcare.
